Zero Harm Workplaces
|
|
Zero Harm Workplaces was founded by a friend of ours (seconded to the DOL/ACC) and with the DOL/ACC Team they organised a seminar in Wellington about 2years ago for HSE/OSH Practitioners and their CEOs.
Bryan was one of the Keynote Speakers.
About July 2009 Dave, Denise and Francois organised the first CEO Summit at SkyCity where about 60 of NZ's senior CEOs attended.
An outcome was the formation of some Project Working Groups (PWGs) which we attended alongwith the CEOs, DOL and ACC Representatives.
Later the Minister of Labour, the Hon Kate Wilkinson again met CEO at Butterfly Creek.
Last Thursday 15th July, PM the Hon John Key launched `Zero Harm Workplaces' at a luncheon. About 90 CEOs (representing about 150,000 employees) signed a `PLEDGE' - see below. (See NZ Herald Article, Mon 19th where Bruce Emson of NZ Bus talks of his passion).
NZ Safety Management Systems and its Affiliates support this initiative and its on-going work. We also believe/recommend that this initiative be extended to Industry Associations and Federations.
Keeping people/assets/customers safe - requires a `system' of safety. Pls contact us to assist.
